# Forbidden

> What the `forbidden` error means and what to do next.

The API, CLI and MCP return `forbidden` with HTTP 403. Repeating the same request unchanged does not help.

## What to do

This login may not do this; repeating unchanged does not help. error.acting\_as names the login used: use a workspace this login belongs to ('ohmyhost whoami --json'), or the login of the account that owns it. For 'organization create', pass --source exactly as the Signup source on the portal Profile page, or omit it when that page shows Direct.

If the steps above do not resolve it, [report it](/feedback) with the `request_id` from the error.
