# Data change in progress

> What the `data_change_in_progress` error means and what to do next.

The API, CLI and MCP return `data_change_in_progress` with HTTP 409. Repeating the same request, with the same idempotency key, after a wait can succeed.

## What to do

A data change of this project is running. Wait until its operation has finished ('ohmyhost project status --project ULID --json'), then repeat the request unchanged.

If the steps above do not resolve it, [report it](/feedback) with the `request_id` from the error.
